Massive Fuel Price Hike Projected as Diesel and Gasoline Prices Surge This Week
Motorists are in for another heavy blow as fuel prices are projected to skyrocket by double digits this coming week. Following four days of volatile global petroleum trading, industry estimates suggest one of the steepest climbs in recent memory.
The looming price surge is largely driven by escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which continue to destabilize international oil markets and tighten global supply.
Estimated Price Adjustments
Based on current trading data, the following price increases are expected per liter:
Gasoline: ₱9.00 – ₱11.00
Diesel: ₱16.50 – ₱17.50
Kerosene: ₱15.00 – ₱18.00
Note: These figures are preliminary estimates based on the first four days of world market trading. Final adjustments will be officially announced by oil companies, typically taking effect on Tuesday.
This week's adjustment marks the 10th consecutive week of increases for gasoline and the 12th for diesel. The cumulative effect has already pushed retail diesel prices past the ₱100 mark in many areas, with some provinces expecting prices to hit as high as ₱130 per liter following this latest round.
