Montblanc Unveils Its Happy Holidays Short Film Directed by Roman Coppola
A continuation of the Maison’s cinematic universe, the new short film brings to life the shared magic of the holidays
Montblanc's latest Happy Holidays campaign unfolds inside the fictional Montblanc Observatory High-Mountain Library, providing the enchanting backdrop for a new short film directed by Roman Coppola. This marks Coppola's third journey into the colourful universe of Montblanc following his work on the "100 Years of Meisterstück" and "Let's Write" short films, where he acted as a co-director to long-time collaborator Wes Anderson.
Picking up narratively where "Let's Write" left off, the Happy Holidays short film reunites Rupert Friend, Esther McGregor and Waris Ahluwalia, who star in the original short film, and adds to its cast Joey King and Daniel Brühl, who feature in the "Let's Write" campaign visuals. The group is captured in the midst of the holiday party first hinted at in "Let's Write", with twinkling trees, shimmering ornaments, playful DJ sets, and thoughtfully exchanged gifts wrapped with handwritten notes creating an ambiance of festive wonder. Coppola's musical directions adds a fittingly playful soundtrack to the celebrations.
Nods to Montblanc's travel heritage found throughout the short film, including miniature branded vans, airplanes and ships, further transport viewers into a world of unbridled imagination. Meanwhile, Montblanc writing instruments, leather goods and watches inspire a season of elegant, meaningful gifting.
Alongside Coppola's short film, the Montblanc Happy Holidays campaign includes a series of still visuals by photographer Charlie Gray that capture the short film's cast and Montblanc Global Brand Ambassadors Xin Zhilei and Jing Boran with pieces from Montblanc's Fall/Winter 2025 Collection.
