The MICHELIN Guide has unveiled its 2027 restaurant selection for the Philippines, recognizing establishments across Manila, its surrounding areas, and Cebu for their culinary achievements.
Chefs, restaurant owners, tourism officials, and other industry figures gathered at the Manila Marriott Hotel at Newport World Resorts on Thursday, October 29, for the awarding ceremony. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos also attended the event.
Now in its second Philippine edition, the prestigious dining guide has expanded its selection from 108 establishments in 2026 to 127 restaurants in 2027, highlighting the country's evolving food scene and growing presence on the international culinary stage.
The selection features three distinctions: MICHELIN Stars, Bib Gourmand, and MICHELIN Selected. Four special awards were also presented to individuals recognized for their contributions to the restaurant industry.
Four special awards recognize Filipino culinary talent
Beyond restaurant distinctions, the 2027 selection recognized four individuals for their work in the Philippine dining scene.
The MICHELIN Service Award went to Clyde Joshua Zafra, restaurant manager of Tito Boy in Pampanga, while Chef Francis Lacson of Digamo received the MICHELIN Young Chef Award.
Ron Job Sanchez of Automat was named recipient of the MICHELIN Exceptional Cocktails Award, and Chef Frances Tariga of Tadhana received the MICHELIN Opening of the Year Award.

How does the MICHELIN Guide select restaurants?
Restaurants are evaluated according to five universal criteria: the quality of ingredients, mastery of cooking techniques, harmony of flavors, the personality of the chef as expressed through the cuisine, and consistency.
MICHELIN Stars recognize outstanding cooking, with two or three Stars indicating increasingly exceptional culinary experiences. Bib Gourmand highlights quality dining at good value, while MICHELIN Selected identifies restaurants that inspectors recommend for their food.
The distinctions are intended to help diners discover establishments across different cuisines, price points, and dining styles.
Philippine cuisine takes the international spotlight
The expanded 2027 selection reflects the range of culinary experiences available across the country, from contemporary tasting menus and international concepts to regional Filipino specialties rooted in local traditions.
With restaurants from Manila, nearby provinces, and Cebu represented in the guide, the latest edition continues to draw attention to the people, ingredients, and traditions shaping Philippine gastronomy.
The recognition also gives diners another resource for exploring the country's restaurant scene, whether they are looking for an exceptional fine-dining experience, good-value meals, or new places to discover.
As the MICHELIN Guide continues its presence in the Philippines, its latest selection puts the country's culinary talent and diverse food culture before a wider international audience.
