‘Chicago The Musical’ Returns to Manila for Limited Three-Week Run in March 2027
Broadway’s longest-running American musical is returning to the Philippine stage as Chicago The Musical arrives in Manila for a limited three-week engagement in March 2027.
GMG Productions, in association with Barry & Fran Weissler and David Ian, announced that the international touring production will run from March 9 to 28, 2027 at The Theatre at Solaire.
Set in the jazz-filled world of 1920s Chicago, the musical follows aspiring performer Roxie Hart and vaudeville star Velma Kelly as they find themselves caught in a world of crime, fame, media attention, and show business.
The Manila production will feature some of the musical’s most recognizable numbers, including “Cell Block Tango,” “Razzle Dazzle,” and “Nowadays.”
Celebrating 30 Years of the Broadway Revival
The Manila engagement comes as Chicago celebrates the 30th anniversary of its acclaimed Broadway revival, which opened in 1996 and went on to become one of the most enduring productions in Broadway history.
With its signature combination of jazz, satire, choreography, and dark comedy, Chicago has remained a fixture on the international theater scene for decades.
The musical features a score by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and a book by Bob Fosse and Ebb, with choreography and direction famously associated with Fosse’s distinctive style.
Tickets Go on Sale This October
Theatergoers looking to catch the Manila run can mark their calendars for October 19, 2026, when tickets officially go on sale to the general public via TicketWorld.
Before the public sale, UnionBank cardholders and registered waitlist subscribers will have access to presale tickets beginning October 12.
With only three weeks scheduled in Manila, the production is expected to draw theater fans eager to see the international touring production live on the Philippine stage.
From its iconic choreography to its unforgettable songs, Chicago The Musical promises to bring its signature mix of murder, music, and all that jazz to Manila in 2027.
