Frankie Pangilinan Admits She and KC Concepcion Haven’t Spoken in a Long Time

Despite their long silence, Frankie says her love for her older sister has never been in question.

Frankie Pangilinan has opened up about her relationship with her older sister, KC Concepcion, revealing that the two have not spoken in a long time while stressing that her love for KC remains unchanged.

The actress and singer addressed the matter during an interview with Ogie Diaz, where she was asked about reports that she and KC have grown distant. The interview was published on Ogie Diaz’s YouTube channel on September 7.

Frankie, who is the daughter of Sharon Cuneta and Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, said she would rather keep the details of their family situation private out of respect for her parents.

“Out of respect po for my parents, I may not divulge so much information, but I can say this confidently—that she will always be my sister.”

She also pushed back against the way some people describe KC as her “half-sister.” While acknowledging their biological relationship, Frankie said she has never viewed KC that way.

“Never ko pong naisip na half-sister ko siya. Of course, you know, biologically, that’s true, but as far as I’m concerned, I love her very much.”

Frankie then admitted that she misses her older sister and confirmed that they have not been communicating for quite some time.

“I think I can say, ‘I miss my sister very much.’ We haven’t really spoken in a really long time.”

Despite the distance, Frankie emphasized that her feelings toward KC have not changed. She said that, like many families, they are dealing with certain matters and are working through them.

“Of course, I think every family naman has… some things—we’re working on it.”

She further underscored how much she continues to value her relationship with KC, sharing that she even makes sure to include her older sister when ordering birthday cakes for their parents despite their lack of communication.

According to reports, Frankie also addressed the speculation surrounding their family and said that much of what has circulated online does not accurately reflect what happened within their family.

Frankie and KC are both daughters of Sharon Cuneta but have different fathers. KC is Sharon’s daughter with actor Gabby Concepcion, while Frankie is her daughter with Sen. Kiko Pangilinan. The sisters have a significant age gap, something Frankie said has also contributed to misconceptions about their relationship.

Public interest in the sisters’ relationship intensified after KC unfollowed Frankie and Kiko on Instagram in 2023. KC previously spoke about choosing her peace of mind amid the complexities of being part of a blended family.

More recently, Sharon addressed questions about KC and Kiko during an appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, saying that the two are okay. She also shared that KC has been busy with her jewelry business, traveling, and preparing for a possible showbiz comeback.

For now, Frankie has chosen not to reveal the private circumstances behind her and KC’s distance. Instead, she made her position clear: whatever challenges their family may be facing, her love for her older sister remains.

“I’ve always loved my Ate. I love my Ate so much,” Frankie said.
