MRT-3 Offers Free Rides to Government Employees, National ID Holders on Sept. 16 and 17

Government employees and National ID holders can enjoy free rides on the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) on September 16 and 17, 2026, as part of commemorations for Civil Service Month and Global Identity Day.

September 16: Free rides for government employees

On September 16, free MRT-3 rides will be available to government employees throughout the day.

To avail of the free rides, government employees must present a valid company or agency identification card upon boarding the train.

September 17: Free rides for National ID holders

On September 17, the free ride privilege will be extended to National ID holders.

Passengers must present any of the following valid forms of National ID:

  • Physical National ID

  • Digital National ID

  • ePhilID in paper format

Eligible passengers may present their National ID at the station to avail of the free MRT-3 ride.

The initiative aims to mark Civil Service Month and Global Identity Day, while providing commuters with free access to public transportation during the two-day observance.
