Families are encouraged to help their senior citizen loved ones register online with the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) to be included in the agency's national database and help improve access to government programs and services.
Do you have a senior citizen in your family? Make sure they are registered with the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC), as the agency continues to encourage older Filipinos to join its national database through a free online registration system.
The initiative aims to establish a reliable and centralized database of senior citizens across the country, allowing the government to better understand their needs and develop programs, projects, and services that support their welfare.
According to the NCSC, registration also helps the agency determine the actual number of senior citizens in the Philippines and provides important information for planning initiatives focused on their health, well-being, and social protection.
HOW TO REGISTER ONLINE
Senior citizens or their family members can complete the registration through the NCSC's official website at www.ncsc.gov.ph.
To register, follow these steps:
Visit the official NCSC website and click the "Register Now!" button.
Read the instructions, check the agreement box, and click "Proceed."
Fill out the Senior Citizens Data Form (SCDF) with the required personal information.
Upload a recent photo and a supporting identification document.
Review the information before submitting the form.
The NCSC recommends using an Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) ID for the identification requirement. However, if the senior citizen does not have one, an available valid government-issued ID showing their complete name, address, and birth date may be used.
Upon successful online submission, registrants will receive a Registration Reference Number (RRN), which can be used to verify their registration record.
WHAT BENEFITS CAN SENIOR CITIZENS ACCESS?
Registration supports the government's efforts to improve the delivery of programs and services for older Filipinos. These include initiatives involving livelihood opportunities, health and wellness, and social protection.
Among the benefits available to qualified senior citizens under existing laws are the 20% discount and VAT exemption on covered goods and services, as well as other privileges provided under Republic Act No. 9994, or the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010.
Senior citizens may also qualify for financial assistance under Republic Act No. 11982, or the Expanded Centenarians Act. Under the law, eligible Filipinos receive a ₱10,000 cash gift upon reaching the ages of 80, 85, 90, and 95, and ₱100,000 upon reaching 100 years old.
However, the NCSC clarifies that completing its online registration does not automatically guarantee cash assistance or pension benefits. Programs have their own eligibility requirements and verification procedures.
HELP YOUR LOVED ONES GET REGISTERED
For families with senior citizens at home, assisting parents, grandparents, and other elderly relatives with their online registration can help ensure that they are included in the national database.
The NCSC encourages the public to register only through its official website, www.ncsc.gov.ph, and avoid unverified registration links to protect their personal information.
