TESDA and AMAES Seal Diamond Partnership for WorldSkills ASEAN 2025

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has taken a bold step in gearing up for the 14th WorldSkills ASEAN Competition, forging a Diamond Partnership Agreement with the AMA Education System (AMAES). The prestigious regional showcase of technical excellence will run from August 21–29, 2025 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, with the Philippines proudly serving as host.

The ceremonial signing, led by TESDA Secretary/Director General Jose Francisco “Kiko” B. Benitez and AMAES President Dr. Marie Redina M. Victoria, was part of a landmark multi-partner agreement alongside the NCR-Alliance of TVET Schools Association (NATSA) and Cybershield Training Solutions, Inc. These alliances aim to deliver a world-class competition that positions the Philippines at the forefront of skills development and global competitiveness.

A Partnership Driven by Innovation and Excellence

As the country’s first and largest IT-based educational network, AMAES will play a strategic role in both the preparation and execution of the competition. Backed by decades of technologydriven, industry-focused education, AMAES is committing substantial resources to ensure a seamless, world-class event.

Key contributions include:

Infrastructure and Equipment: Providing cutting-edge facilities, industry-standard tools,

and specialized competition equipment — all free of charge.

Human Capital Development: Leading the training and technical preparation of

competitors and expert judges, drawing on its network of seasoned educators, industry

professionals, and competition alumni.

On-Site Technical Expertise: Deploying highly skilled professionals to ensure

uninterrupted operations and immediate technical support during the competition.

These efforts solidify AMAES’s role not only in the run-up to the event but also in shaping its legacy as a milestone in Filipino skills excellence.

Elevating Filipino Talent on a Regional Stage

The WorldSkills ASEAN Competition is a biennial gathering of Southeast Asia’s most talented technical-vocational professionals, competing in disciplines spanning IT, cybersecurity, creative arts, manufacturing, construction, and service industries. Notably, the Cyber Security (Skill 54) category will challenge participants with real-world tasks from secure network configurations to rapid problem-solving under pressure.

For the Philippines, hosting the event is more than an organizational feat it is an opportunity to showcase the strength of its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs, demonstrate the caliber of its workforce, and inspire the next generation of skilled professionals.

TESDA Secretary Benitez underscored the significance of the collaboration:

With the countdown underway, the TESDA–AMAES Diamond Partnership stands as a testament to the nation’s readiness to deliver a competition of global caliber one that will raise the bar for excellence and cement the Philippines’ position as a powerhouse in skills mastery across the ASEAN region.
