MANILA, Philippines — In a move that has sent shockwaves through the pageant community, Filipino-German beauty queen Imelda Schweighart has officially pivoted her path to the international stage. Following weeks of intense speculation regarding her status in the national circuit, the Miss Grand International (MGI) organization confirmed on Monday, April 6, 2026, that Schweighart is the latest high-profile addition to the inaugural MGI All Stars competition.

The announcement marks a dramatic departure for Schweighart, who was previously competing as a frontrunner representing Kalibo, Aklan, in the Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) 2026 pageant.

The transition comes on the heels of a cryptic statement released by the MUPH organization in late March, which announced the removal of an unnamed delegate due to "certain behaviors that were not aligned with standards." While the organization did not initially name Schweighart, fans noted her sudden absence from official sponsored pictorials and preliminary events.

Schweighart later addressed the "closed door" on her social media, reflecting on the grueling physical and mental preparation she had undergone for the Miss Universe stage.

"Four years. That’s how many mornings I woke up and chose a version of myself that didn’t even exist yet," she shared in an emotional Instagram reel. "And now, that door is closed, just like that."

However, the "unapologetic spirit" of the former Miss Earth Philippines 2016 did not stay sidelined for long. Miss Grand International has welcomed her with open arms, describing her as a "legendary multi-hyphenate" and a "true icon of her generation."

As part of the 1st MGI All Stars—a special edition open to seasoned queens and trans women—Schweighart joins a powerhouse Philippine contingent that includes:

  • Gazini Ganados (Miss Universe Philippines 2019)

  • Fuschia Anne Ravena (Miss International Queen 2022)

  • Alexia Núñez (Noble Queen of the Universe)

  • Keylyn Trajano

The inaugural MGI All Stars is scheduled to take place in Thailand this coming May, with the Grand Finals set for May 30, 2026. The competition offers a transformative prize package valued between $100,000 and $1,000,000, alongside the first-ever All Stars Crown.

For Schweighart, this move is more than just a change of scenery—it is a reclamation of her narrative. Known for her "editorial edge" and vocal personality, she now heads to a stage that historically prizes the very "grand" and "outspoken" qualities she embodies.
