Qualified Filipinos Now Eligible for UAE Visa-on-Arrival Starting June 25
MANILA, Philippines — Traveling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) just became significantly easier for qualified Filipino globe-trotters.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced on Wednesday, June 24, that the UAE is granting a visa-on-arrival privilege to Filipino citizens who hold valid visas, residence permits, or permanent residency (Green Cards) from select global destinations.
The new travel arrangement officially takes effect tomorrow, Thursday, June 25, 2026.
According to the DFA advisory, the streamlined entry process applies to Filipino travelers holding active visas or residency status from the following countries:
United States of America (USA)
European Union (EU) member states
Australia
Japan
Singapore
Republic of Korea (South Korea)
Canada
New Zealand
Fees and Stay Durations
Eligible Filipino tourists have two primary entry options under the new scheme:
14-Day Visa on Arrival: Available for AED 100 (approximately ₱1,600). This option can be extended once for an additional 14 days for a fee of AED 250.
60-Day Visa on Arrival: Available for a flat rate of AED 250 (approximately ₱4,000). The DFA noted that this longer option is strictly non-extendable.
The DFA emphasized that this major policy update is a direct result of strong international cooperation.
"The visa-on-arrival privilege extended to Filipino citizens by the UAE was in view of the excellent bilateral relations between the Philippines and the UAE," the DFA statement read.
Prior to this update, standard Filipino passport holders traveling to major UAE destinations like Dubai and Abu Dhabi were strictly required to secure a tourist visa in advance through travel agencies, airlines, or sponsors.
