Cebu Pacific raises hand-carry baggage allowance to 10kg starting Sept. 15
Travelers flying with Cebu Pacific will soon have more room for their hand-carry bags as the airline updates its carry-on baggage policy.
Starting September 15, 2026, passengers traveling on Cebu Pacific (5J) flights will be allowed to bring up to 10kg of hand-carry baggage, up from the previous 7kg limit.
The airline said the adjustment is part of its efforts to improve boarding efficiency and provide passengers with a smoother travel experience.
Cebu Pacific representatives also confirmed the updated allowance, noting that the new 10kg limit applies to 5J flights. The airline clarified that the change does not cover Cebgo (DG) flights.
What passengers can bring
Passengers with a confirmed seat, including children and infants, are allowed to bring one hand-carry item for the overhead compartment.
The bag must remain within the maximum dimensions of 56cm x 36cm x 23cm (22in x 14in x 9in) and must not exceed the new 10kg weight limit for applicable 5J flights.
Travelers may also bring one personal item that can be placed underneath the seat in front of them.
The personal item can include everyday essentials such as a small bag or other belongings that fit under the seat.
Check your baggage before heading to the airport
With the new allowance taking effect, Cebu Pacific is reminding passengers to check their baggage before leaving for the airport.
The airline advised travelers to make sure their carry-on bags meet the applicable weight, size, and piece restrictions to avoid delays or additional charges at the airport.
Bags that exceed the permitted number of pieces, dimensions, or weight limit may be subject to a Gate Baggage Fee.
For passengers flying on 5J flights, the increase to 10kg gives travelers a little more flexibility when packing their essentials—just in time for upcoming trips and holiday travel.
Before flying, passengers are encouraged to check the baggage rules applicable to their specific flight, especially those traveling on Cebgo (DG), which remains under a different allowance.
