Australia Offers Up to 10-Year Multiple-Entry Visas to Select Asian Countries, Including the Philippines
Australia’s Frequent Traveller visa stream offers eligible travelers a long-term option for visiting the country multiple times for tourism and business visitor activities. Under the Visitor visa (subclass 600), successful applicants may be granted a visa valid for up to 10 years, allowing repeat visits without having to apply for a new visa for every trip.
The program covers eligible passport holders from 11 countries, including the Philippines, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
The long-term visa is designed to provide greater flexibility for frequent travelers, particularly those who regularly visit Australia for holidays, family visits, or permitted business activities.
Visa validity, stay limits, and fees
Successful applicants may enter Australia multiple times while their visa remains valid. Each visit can last up to three months, subject to the conditions specified in the visa grant. Visa holders may also be restricted from staying in Australia for more than 12 months in any 24-month period.
The stated application fee is AUD 1,845 per applicant, although travelers should check the Australian Department of Home Affairs’ official fee schedule for the current charge before applying.
Who can apply?
Applicants must be citizens of one of the 11 eligible countries and hold a valid passport. They must also satisfy Australia’s visitor visa requirements, including health and character checks, and demonstrate that they have sufficient funds to support themselves during their stay and leave Australia when required.
The visa is intended for genuine temporary visitors. Applicants may need to provide supporting documents, such as bank statements, employment records, travel plans, or invitations from Australian family members, friends, or business contacts.
Permitted activities include tourism, holidays, visiting family and friends, and eligible business visitor activities, such as attending conferences or business meetings. Paid employment in Australia is not permitted under this visa.
How to apply
Eligible travelers can submit applications online through Australia’s ImmiAccount platform. Applicants must be outside Australia when lodging their application and when the visa decision is made. Depending on their circumstances, they may also be asked to undergo medical examinations or provide biometric information at an Australian Biometric Collection Centre.
While the Frequent Traveller stream provides a longer validity period and the convenience of multiple entries, a 10-year visa does not allow continuous residence in Australia. Travelers must follow the permitted stay periods and all conditions attached to their individual visa grants.
