As Halloween approaches, the Masungi Georeserve invites visitors to experience the forest after sunset through “Masungi: After Hours,” a special nighttime journey exploring the intersection of nature, nocturnal wildlife, and Filipino folklore.

Set against the reserve’s ancient limestone formations, the experience offers a different perspective on the natural landscape as darkness falls. Visitors are invited to discover the forest’s nighttime environment, where the sounds of wildlife and the rustling of trees set the atmosphere for stories rooted in the Filipino imagination.

Drawing inspiration from traditional tales passed down through generations, the experience explores the relationship between the natural world and local folklore. As shadows stretch across the forest and the moon illuminates the limestone formations, guests can encounter the landscape through a blend of nature exploration and cultural storytelling.

“Masungi: After Hours” is scheduled for October 24, 25, and 31, as well as Saturdays and Sundays throughout November. Available time slots are 5 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 9:30 p.m., and 11 p.m., with each visit lasting approximately three to four hours.

The conservation fee is ₱2,000 per guest, with a discounted rate of ₱1,800 per guest for groups of three or more. Slots are limited, and interested visitors may request a visit through tinyurl.com/Masungi-After-Hours.

By bringing together nocturnal nature and Filipino folklore, Masungi: After Hours offers visitors an opportunity to experience the reserve in a different light—one shaped by the mysteries of the forest, the stories of the past, and the wonders of the natural world.
