The charming and enduring Jane Austen story gets a brand new adaptation in Sense and Sensibility, showing exclusively at Ayala Malls cinemas starting October 28. This fresh revisiting of the English classic stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Esmé Creed-Miles as sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, respectively.
Endearing and entertaining, Sense and Sensibility revolves around the Dashowood sisters, whose father’s recent death finds them in dire circumstances. They are forced to leave their family estate, Norland Park, as the house was passed on to their father’s closest male relative, their half-brother John Dashwood. The move has been even more painful for the eldest of the siblings, Elinor as she has reluctantly fallen in love with Edward Ferrars, who is staying at Norland with his relatives. Marianne consoles her distraught sister, but she also falls in love with a dashing John Willoughby after an unexpected encounter. Navigating love, loss, and the societal expectations from women during the time, Elinor and Marianne are fierce with each other, but their sisterly bond is unwavering throughout.
