CAVITEX Implements Toll Increase for Zapote–Kawit Route — Here Are the New Rates

Motorists using the CAVITEX R1 Expressway Extension will pay higher toll fees starting October 28, 2026, following the approval of the second tranche of a delayed toll adjustment.

Motorists traveling between Metro Manila and Cavite will have to prepare for higher toll fees as the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) implements its second-tranche toll increase.

The new rates took effect on October 28, 2026, following approval by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB). The adjustment applies specifically to the CAVITEX R1 Expressway Extension connecting Zapote, Las Piñas, to Kawit, Cavite.

What are the new CAVITEX toll rates?

Under the approved adjustment, the new one-way toll rates for the Zapote–Kawit segment are:

  • Class 1 vehicles: ₱103, up from ₱88

  • Class 2 vehicles: ₱207, up from ₱176

  • Class 3 vehicles: ₱310, up from ₱264

The increase amounts to ₱15 for Class 1 vehicles, ₱31 for Class 2, and ₱46 for Class 3 per trip. For Class 1 motorists making a round trip along the covered segment, this means an additional ₱30 in toll fees.

Why are toll fees increasing?

According to CAVITEX Infrastructure Corporation (CIC), the adjustment stems from toll petitions filed in 2020 and 2023 by CIC and the Philippine Reclamation Authority. These petitions covered periodic toll adjustments originally scheduled for implementation in 2021 and 2024.

To help reduce the immediate impact on motorists, the approved increases were divided into two tranches. The first tranche was implemented in October 2025, while the second took effect on October 28, 2026.

Toll rebates available for eligible public utility vehicles

To help cushion the impact of the increase, the ABANTE Program is being reactivated starting October 28 for 60 days.

The program provides toll rebates for accredited traditional and modern jeepneys, UV Express vehicles, and buses with authorized routes using the CAVITEX R1 Extension in Kawit.

Meanwhile, toll rebates for accredited vehicles transporting agricultural products will continue until November 30, 2026, to support the movement of agricultural goods. Eligibility and rebate conditions may apply, so operators should check the program's official guidelines.

Infrastructure improvements cited by CAVITEX

CIC and its partners said toll adjustments will support continued infrastructure and technology improvements along the expressway. These include bridge expansion-joint replacements along the Parañaque segment and Imus Viaduct, pavement rehabilitation in sections of Kawit and Parañaque, and upgrades to RFID systems and automatic license plate recognition technology.

CAVITEX serves as a key road link between Metro Manila, Cavite, and Southern Luzon, with the R1 Extension providing a connection between Zapote and Kawit.

Motorists are advised to take note of the revised rates and plan their travel budgets accordingly.
