APPLE UNVEILS IPHONE 18 PRO: A BIGGER LEAP FOR PHOTOGRAPHY, PERFORMANCE AND AI
Apple has officially introduced its latest flagship smartphones, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, bringing a new focus on photography, performance, battery life, and artificial intelligence.
Unveiled on September 9, the new Pro models arrive with Apple's A20 Pro chip, a new variable-aperture camera system, an upgraded Dynamic Island, improved cooling, and the next generation of Apple Intelligence through iOS 27.
A new camera experience
One of the biggest changes comes to the camera system.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max feature a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, marking the first time Apple has brought adjustable aperture control to the iPhone.
The six-blade aperture can automatically adjust depending on lighting and the desired depth of field. Users can also manually select from four aperture settings, giving photography enthusiasts more control over portraits, low-light shots, and creative compositions.
Apple says the camera can open as wide as ƒ/1.48 in darker conditions, while narrowing to ƒ/4 can help keep more subjects in focus in group and landscape photos. The Camera app also gains new Pro controls for aperture, shutter speed, white balance, and exposure through a histogram.
Powered by the A20 Pro
At the heart of the new models is the A20 Pro, built using a 2-nanometer process.
The chip features a six-core CPU, seven-core GPU, and a new Dual 16-core Neural Engine. Apple says the A20 Pro has 50 percent more memory bandwidth than the previous generation, while its GPU can deliver up to 40 percent faster graphics performance compared with the A19 Pro.
The chip is also designed to handle more demanding on-device AI tasks, computational photography, and gaming.
Longer battery life
Battery performance also gets a major boost.
The iPhone 18 Pro can deliver up to 36 hours of video playback, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max reaches up to 45 hours on eSIM-only models, according to Apple.
The Pro Max also gets what Apple describes as its biggest battery-life increase ever on an iPhone, aided by the new chip architecture and a larger battery.
More AI, more personal
The new iPhones arrive with iOS 27 and Apple Intelligence, including the new Siri AI.
The upgraded Siri is designed to understand personal context, recognize what's on the screen, and assist users across apps, messages, emails, and photos while maintaining Apple's focus on privacy and on-device processing.
New colors and up to 2TB storage
The iPhone 18 Pro lineup comes in black, silver, glacier, and the new burgundy finish.
Both models are offered with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB storage options.
In the Philippines, prices start at:
iPhone 18 Pro 256GB — ₱94,990
iPhone 18 Pro Max 256GB — ₱99,990

iPhone 18 Pro Max 2TB — ₱194,990

With its biggest camera change in years, a new generation of Apple silicon, longer battery life, and expanded AI capabilities, the iPhone 18 Pro lineup positions itself as Apple's most capable Pro iPhone yet.
